Cavium Networks and Skelmir Collaborate to Offer Scalable, High-Performance Platforms to Enable Seamless Delivery of Advanced Services

Skelmir's Virtual Machine (VM) for executing Java on Cavium's ECONA Processors Provides Ready-to-Market Solutions for the Digital Home

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA and SOMERVILLE, MA, June 2, 2010 – Cavium Networks (NASDAQ : CAVM), a leading provider of semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing for networking, communications and the digital home, today announced that Skelmir, LLC has ported their CEE-J VM to Cavium's ECONA™ CNS3XXX processors for the support of Open Services Gateway initiative (OSGi) and other Java applications. This optimized platform provides OEMs a low cost solution to support seamless integration of application software without compromising performance.

CEE-J has been deployed on well over 10 million embedded devices worldwide to date, in stand-alone products and as part of service provider eco-systems. The ECONA CNS3XXX family of ARM-based energy efficient processors offers single and dual ARM11 MPCore™ processors, a rich set of integrated hardware accelerators and a range of I/Os for glueless voice, video and data connectivity. Sophisticated power management techniques enable super low-power operation starting at less than 1 watt. The ECONA CNS3XXX family is targeted for applications including FTTH broadband gateways, network attached storage appliances, multimedia picture frames, media and print servers, IP cameras and wireless access points.
