The highly integrated ECONA CNS3XXX SoC processor family provides a rich set of integrated hardware accelerators and a range of I/Os for glueless voice, video and data connectivity. Combined with the industry’s best power management features, the ECONA CNS3XXX processor family is best suited for gigabit-class digital home gateways while continuing to push the envelope of power and cost reduction. SEN uses the OCTEON® CN50XX family in their currently shipping FTTH gateways.
With more than 10 million subscribers for fiber-based residential services, Japan undoubtedly leads the world in FTTH deployments. As this subscriber base continues to grow rapidly, consumers are not only demanding faster internet connections but they are also looking for sophisticated data, voice and video and security services that can be deployed on the gateway. These services provide an additional avenue for service providers to increase their Average Revenue Per User (ARPU). The ECONA CNS3XXX family of SoC processors integrates up to 2 ARM11 MPCore™ processors and over 10 Application Acceleration Engines for gigabit switching, Hardware-based NAT and QoS, L2 – L4 packet processing, TCP offload, security, RAID, image processing and L7 content inspection. Additionally, a flexible set of peripheral interfaces including 3x gigabit Ethernet (supporting RGMII / GMII / MII), Dual PCIe, USB2.0, SATA – all with integrated PHYs, BT.656, TDM/PCM and I2S to ensure best-in-class wired and wireless connectivity options to all of the popular consumer gadgets including cameras, media storage, USB network adapters, digital photo frames and many more.
