Cavium Networks and Ecosystem Partners to Showcase Multimedia Enabled Broadband Residential Gateway and Wireless Display Solutions at Broadband World Forum 2010

Energy Efficient ECONA™ ARM®-Based Processors and PureVu™ Video Processors Enable Service Providers to offer Highly Desirable Consumer Features

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., and PARIS October 25, 2010 – Cavium Networks (NASDAQ: CAVM), a leading provider of semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing for networking, communications, and the digital home, today announced that highly differentiated next-generation Broadband Residential Gateway solutions ideal for Digital Home Applications such as Wireless Video Transmission, Broadband Gateways, Home Controls and Media Servers will be showcased in booth #M3 at Broadband World Forum 2010, taking place at CNIT La Defense, Paris France from October 26th – 28th.

Cavium will present a range of next-generation Broadband Residential Gateway solutions based upon its energy-efficient ECONA ARM processors. Cavium’s PureVu video processors offer industry leading H.264 encode/decode, Super Low Latency (SLL™) technology, HDCP 2.0 content protection, and intelligent video quality-of-service and networking capabilities to bring multi-room 2D and 3D wireless display functionality over standard 802.11 Wi-Fi to a variety of consumer electronic devices, such as flat panel TVs, Blu-ray players, PCs, and gaming consoles. The ECONA CNS3XXX family offers single and dual ARM11 MPCore™ processors, a rich set of integrated hardware accelerators and a range of I/Os for glueless voice, video and data connectivity. Sophisticated power management techniques enable super low-power operation starting at less than 1 watt. The ECONA CNS3XXX processors are being used by Tier-1 OEMs and ODMs building FTTH broadband gateways, network attached storage appliances, media and print servers, and wireless access points.

  • Multimedia/Multi-stream Content Delivery - Triple screen viewing and interaction with live and stored HD content
  • Third-Party Service Delivery Platforms - Scalable Android Based platform for value-added, subscription based applications

Cavium’s ECONA multi-core ARM-based SoCs combined with Axentra’s HipServ technology, provide best-in-class performance with accelerated time-to-market. Service providers and OEMs utilizing comprehensive digital lifestyle strategies may integrate the combined solution into their product offerings to deliver next-generation services that can be customized and extended to link with infrastructure offerings such as offsite backup, managed services, webcast and pay-per-view service subscriptions, as well as goods and service offerings that increase revenue per user.

TeamF1
TeamF1's SecureF1rst CPE Gateway Solution (CGS) enables broadband service providers to deploy rich, auto-provisioned residential gateways and CPE routers. At the show, TeamF1 is demonstrating a home area networking feature-set that delivers a seamless, secure "connected-home" experience to end-customers, running on an ECONA-3 platform. Also being demonstrated are home network-attached storage features built into CGS, including sharing of disks, printers, and media-streaming
