Cavium Networks has a family of two NITROX II based Multi-Gigabit Network Interface Cards (NICs). The NITROX XL Secure NIC Family is a versatile adaptor family with 2 to 4 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces that utilizes Cavium Networks NITROX II in-line security processor to significantly accelerate IPsec, SSL and Wireless LAN security processing, offload TCP functions and support both IPv4 and IPv6 traffic in enterprise server and appliance configurations. These cards can plug into any PCI/PCI-X Server Configuration. The boards have a highly scalable IPsec performance from 1 to 3.4 Gbps. This family is the highest performing family of secure NICs in the market to support up to quad Gigabit Ethernet functionality.
NITROX XL Secure NIC Family is ideally suited to delivering gigabit-plus performance and dramatically offloading the server CPU for VPN, Wireless LAN, Storage and Server Load Balancing equipment.
All boards come with extensive software support that includes multiple operating systems, drivers, APIs and protocols. Operating systems supported include Linux, FreeBSD and Windows®. Open-source API and Protocol support is provided for FreeS/WAN, KAME and OpenSSL. Web Servers supported are Apache and IIS.
