OVERVIEW
Cavium family of Celestial Set Top Box processors offer industry leading integration and best price-performance for Set Top Box, Digital TV and High Definition Multimedia player applications. The Celestial CNC1201X family includes products that support High Definition and Standard Definition H.264 and MPEG-2 video decoding with conditional access, transport, picture quality processing and uses industry standard ARM CPU's. The High degree of integration deployed in the CNC1201X Set Top Box processor family is intended to provide OEMs and service providers with aggressive system bill-of-materials (BOM) cost in order to enable mass market adoption in such devices as DVB-C, DVB-S and DVB-T Set Top Boxes.
TARGET APPLICATIONS
The Celestial CNC1201X Set Top Box processors are targeted for use in cost sensitive free-to-air, Operator PayTV and Digital TV applications; including Cable, satellite and terrestrial zapper set top boxes and thin client products.
PRODUCT LINE
The Celestial CNC1201X product family consists of the CNC1201, CNC1201M, CNC1201C and CNC1201J products, which are differentiated by the video profile, MHEG-5 and level of conditional access support. The SoCs are provided with a complete SDK and middleware based on Linux driver support and an extensive API for controlling key video parameters, building Graphical User Interfaces. Application-specific Celestial CNC1201X evaluation systems and reference designs are also available.
