| OCTEON™ Plus CN56XX Multi-Core MIPS64 Based SoC Processors |
The OCTEON Plus CN56XX family of Multi-core MIPS64 processors targets intelligent, networking, control plane, and wireless applications in next-generation equipment. The family includes eight software and pin-compatible processors, with six to twelve cnMIPS64 cores at up to 800 MHz speed on a single chip that integrate next-generation SERDES based networking I/Os including XAUI, along with the most advanced security and application hardware acceleration. OCTEON Plus CN56XX processors deliver up to 10Gbps application performance.
Security hardware acceleration in the CN56XX implements the latest set of algorithms, including KASUMI support to enable future-proof designs for evolving wireless network requirements. CN56XX also integrates enhanced, higher-performance versions of hardware acceleration for compression/decompression and TCP to deliver industry's top performance. Supported by an industry-standard software toolchain and operating systems, the CN56XX offers major performance, power and real-estate value proposition over alternatives.
